In 2005, to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Peanuts cartoon, the town of Santa Rosa and Craig Schulz, Charles Schulz' son, presented It's Your Town Charlie Brown, a city-wide arts and community project hosting 55 Charlie Brown statues. In 2006, they followed up with the Summer of Woodstock, featuring 76 Woodstock statues. Reflecting Santa Rosa by Craig, Judy, Lindsey and Bryan Schulz was sponsored by United Media and placed in Snoopy's Gallery & Gift Shop.

Snoopy's Gallery & Gift Shop, located next to the Redwood Empire Ice Arena at 1665 West Steele Lane in Santa Rosa, features 2,400 square feet of a wide range of Peanuts products.

Judiciary Square, Inauguration Day

Every policeman you see in this photo---imagine a cartoon speech bubble above their heads that reads "I don't know" and you have some idea of what it was like to get where you were going on that day.

But I can't say enough to commend even the most frustrated among the crowd for staying respectful of the potential volatility of the situation. There were times when it took me ten minutes to cross a street because I had to squeeze and push through a crowd of agitated "Purple Gaters" who were going in the other direction. But I never felt fear of the crowd. Intellectually, you knew that the possibility of a stampede-and-trample situation was real, but in your heart you sort of could feel that there was an unspoken understanding that we were all there for the same one reason.

Well. Except the truck with the blown up fake Photoshopped dismembered fetuses on the side, apparently in town a couple of days early for the March For Telling Women How To Run Their Lives. They were neither participant in nor beneficiary of the communal lovefest of Inauguration Day, so I felt perfectly okay about planting myself in front of their truck and offering the loudest "go to hell" I've ever uttered.

And then there's the cool mashup protections which help you fix your code to provide isolation between components so that the gremlins can't breed in your engine. But they mostly involve a lot of coding to implement.

That's Schezar's poor engine, plus StudioFibonacci's cartoon monsters (1 2 3 4) , and jean_victor_balin's pansement from the excellent http://www.openclipart.org/

This is one slide from my W2SP talk. Want to see it all? The whole, annotated presentation can be found on Web Insecurity.
