2011/02/05: 2011/02/07: Use a window or a door as a frame for your subject today in a photograph. #ds449

It was several lunches together, finishing their pastrami sandwiches at Barnes' Deli, that Conrad put out the bet too big to let slide. He was bragging about all of the places he had :"snuck" into, and that there was not a door or window that was no open to him, even without tools.

While they had hung out together a few weeks, and pulled off some low stress cons together, Lori was still wondering what proportion of Condrad was truth and what was hype. It did not matter of she arrived at an accurate figure, but the more she got to know him, the less sure she was-- because he continued to do things she thought impossible.

Ruffling through her purse she said, "Well here is your chanxce to prove it and be useful Cowboy-- I locked myself out of my house."

"Consider yourself in luck then!" he yelled, jumping playfully to his feet like some pathetic cartoon super hero.

Twenty minutes later they stood in front of her house, and he offered, "Pick the door or window you want to enter, humble Conrad the lockless smith is at your service..."

She was tempted to suggest the tiny window above the shower. "Let's do the back bedroom window."

"Your wish is my demand, " he stated grandly with a mock low now. "But you know what predicament that might place us iin."

"You have to get us in that window, first."

Whistling a bit of Allman Brothers (Rambling Man?), they walked ariound back, and up the stairs of the deck. Lori was curious if his hyper level would rise or fall-- these were not strong windows by any means, bur being a careful single woman, she kept it latches, a stick in the frame, and a nail through the frame in a corner.

"Ah, ah ah.." he said, wagging his finger. "Down the stairs and no peeking. A good magician never reveals his tricks."

"You got it Houdini, She headed down and rested, ears open, in one of the plastic patio chairs by the grille.

The whistling continued, she heard rattingling, metal scraping, a few whispered f-words.... and then the unmistakable sound of the window sliding open.

By the time she bounded up the stairs to see, he was already niside, laughing, flat on his back on her bed.

She could not help but smile.

"And no one bit of your traps brokem, he said, pointing to the stick sitting on her dresser.

"You win,: she teased, tossing her hair over her soulder, as she lifted her leg to climb in.

Conrad just patted the bed, and then gave her the "come here" Matrix gestiure.

Lori's vague plan clicked one more notch. "Well, Dr. Slick, if you are going to spend time in my bed, here is the deal- you can only enter through the window, and only if you knock first."

"Easy Peasy. now hurry up and take that dress off."

She stood still. "One more thing, you better watch her big head, and not bring down the shelf over the window. All my precious child hood toys are up there.

He g;lanced up at the shelf. "No problem"

Lori then knew how to do the next bit. It was all about the shelf.

Conrad inwardly smiled,. knowing full well that she was as transparent as saran wrap. While she thought she was baiting a hook, she had already bitten one herself.

Laying together quietly for a momeny, they each savored the mountain view and the stately profiles of the talll pinesm both thinking how lovely their own ideas were.

BACKSTORY: Chemlab / 16 Volt / Left Spine Down concert. We arrived while 16 Volt was playing. Our 2nd time seeing Chemlab. Met up with John, saw Lauren & Andy, got moshed into by Dana, hung out at my place and drank and watched cartoons afterward, with JSun & John.

Jared was totally crazy! Played 2 new songs, but mostly old stuff. Jared kicked John The Canadien in the forehead, haha. He also almost knocked Clint down by going all crazy and going into the crowd. Multiple times he had his microphone so far from the stage that random people in the crowd had to detangle themselves from the cord. At the end of the show, he totally spazzed out and stood on the bar, laid on the floor, etc, etc. It was pretty awesome. For someone who is totally sober, he is one of the least sober acting frontmen I've ever seen perform live...

SETLIST:Suicide Jag
Exile On Mainline
Pyromance
Chemical Halo
Solar Max [new song]
Darkroom [new song]
Vera Blue
Blunt Force Trauma
Codeine, Glue & You
Summer Of Hate
