Avatar for Luc - First Draft
When I chose my first avatar, it was quickly obvious I would choose a portrait of myself at a very young age. To replace it and stay in touch with the original idea behind this choice, became acceptable to me when I stumbled on this set by SeannyK, a professional 3D animator living in Vancouver : www.flickr.com/photos/seannyk/sets/72157601966139798/
I asked him if he would consider drawing a cartoon like avatar for me and I must admit I wasn't surprised when he agreed. He's a very warm, giving and charming man.
This is the first sketch he sent me and I was like .....wow, WOW !! Thanks again Sean !

"The Me" And Variations
Want to know the history of my avatar?
1. I made my first White Box Avatar in early 2009. I used it on Flickr and elsewhere for a good long while. I also posted a setup shot for it.
2. Later that year markleggett, a fantastic graphic designer, decided I needed a cartoon version of myself, so he created one. Wow!
3. In October 2009 I updated my avatar with White Box Avatar 2, and as of this posting it's the one I still use here on Flickr and most everywhere else.
4. For my birthday this year my friend Ed created a black-and-white "toon" version on his iPhone for me. Neat!
5. When I decided to become a cyborg, I posted a message about it using a toy version of my avatar.
6. Today I discovered a little tribute to JD Hancock by celticsaga, an iconic version of my avatar. Fun!
Thank you to markleggett, Ed, and celticsaga for your wonderful gifts. I love them and appreciate them very much.
