A few years from now all the commentators and the President's spokesperson will be saying, "No one could have predicted that the Pay Roll Tax Cut would undermine Social Security."

Well, many people predict just that including: FDR said, “We put those pay roll contributions there so as to give the contributors a legal, moral, and political right to collect their pensions and their unemployment benefits. With those taxes in there, no damn politician can ever scrap my social security program.”

A compromise between Democrats and Republicans that trades the XL Pipeline and high income tax cuts for a two month Pay Roll Tax Cut extension is a triple win for the party of the 1%.
